Welcome to the annual dogs in spring post, and it happens to be Mother's Day. The flowers are blooming, and the weather is finally good. So it is time for one of my favorite posts. I do love pictures of dogs with flowers.

Dogs in Spring Flowers 2022
It took two photoshoots today to get enough good pictures. Mostly that is on me. I forgot the treats on the first trip into the yard.
Over the years, it has been a problem with sitting still long enough for an image, but the magic seems to be mini pretzels. Seach good dogs this year.

Before we get to more dog pictures, we had a guest appearance at the pond in our backyard. Say Hi to Mr. Bald Eagle. This is the first eagle we have seen on our pond.
Eagles are becoming more common in our areas. But our pond, which was teaming with fish, suffered a deep freeze a few years ago, killing all the fish. While a few small fish are slowly coming back, it will take years to recover. Hopefully, Mr. Eagle is a good sign.

There is nothing like a good run in the spring. And our paws aren't even getting muddy.

Jake - The Original Dog in Flowers - 2012
This is Jake, who died of cancer in 2013. He is adored and missed. He loved going into the flowers and setting. But usually ran away if a picture was coming.

I always enjoy this post. Beautiful pics once again. The girls look beautiful and happy. Nice shot of the eagle too. Happy Spring!!!

Hi Cindy,
Welcome to the blog.
I always enjoy this one too. But Molly was very resistant.
Also, it got delayed. First, by a late snow and late blooms. Then a week of family emergency. But we got home and the flowers were still good.
Thanks for the note. Sometimes I think I'm just doing it for me.

These doggie pictures are so cute! I love the ones where they're running. :)
DrDan says
I love the pictures with "ear flop". But every spring I do the "dogs in flowers" but sometimes they don't want to do it. Check out the fall, "dogs in leaves" posts if you want to see a lot of running and jumping.
Thanks for the note.
Dan
Note to readers: Emma blogs with her mother at https://savortheflavour.com/ They put a lot of hard work in their site. Check it out. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the comments everybody and Molly and Lilly say thanks also.
As many of you know, this blog started as a hobby cooking blog for family recipes. For some reason, it took off on Google. Since I retired from medicine, the blog is my only "job", but I will still treat it like a hobby and not a business, although business-wise we are doing quite well thanks to all of you. I don't like popups so no popups, etc. I love to do dog picture, so you get at least one per post. I plan to keep it up for the foreseeable future but expect some gaps of several weeks to start appearing. Retirement is very busy.
Have a great spring. Hopeful a new Tex-Mex recipe this weekend if the final run through is as good as previous one.

How about a series of picture postcards? Dogs and Flowers, intersperced with other Spring delight shots, such as leftover ham with scalloped potatoes, leftover ham and bean soup. Etc. I'd buy.
